Bajrang Punia Reacts To Vinesh Phogat’s Retirement Announcement

The Indian woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat is certainly heartbroken after getting disqualified in the Paris Olympics 2024 for exceeding the weight limit by 100 gms.

Usually, Vinesh Phogat takes part in the 53 kg freestyle wrestling category but for the Paris Olympics, she prepared herself for taking part in the 50 kg freestyle wrestling category. She was a strong contender for the gold medal as she had a phenomenal tournament till the final match which she couldn’t play.

Vinesh Phogat was highly disappointed with the unfortunate events and she decided to take retirement from wrestling. She wrote on X, “Mother, wrestling won against me, I lost… Your dreams and my courage are shattered. I don’t have any more strength now. Goodbye Wrestling 2001-2024. I will forever be indebted to all of you. Please forgive (me).”

Now India wrestler Bajrang Punia has reacted to the news of her retirement, he tweeted, “Vinesh, you did not lose but yet you have been defeated. For us, you will always be a winner and along with being India’s daughter you are India’s pride as well.”

Is Vinesh reacting in haste? What do you think?
