What does winning the award mean to you personally and professionally?

It is a huge validation of our commitment to innovation. From the humidity of Mumbai to the hard water dilemmas in Gujarat, and up north where dry, damaged-coloured hair reigns supreme, we, at KT Professional have seen it all. These challenges are our playground, inspiring us to whip up innovative products that cater to every unique hair type across this vast nation. We’re on a mission to shake up India’s hair care scene. We have been focused on transforming the hair care market in India, a country with a population of 1.4 billion and diverse water and weather conditions that change every 100 kilometers. What do you consider the most rewarding aspect of your current role at KT Professional?

The best perk of my job at KT Professional? It’s the chance to connect and collaborate with people from all over India! With our footprint in 27 states and 86 cities, every day is like a cultural tour as I engage with salons, retailers, and our brilliant team members. This dynamic environment keeps me charged up and pushes us to innovate at speed. Who knew hair care could be this exciting?

As CEO, what are your primary responsibilities, and how do you prioritize your daily tasks?

As a CEO, your responsibilities are shaped by your approach to leadership. I believe it’s essential to act as the captain of your ship, driving the mission forward while being inspired to do the right things and motivating others to do the same. Leading by example is crucial within the organization. A CEO’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the team is performing their roles effectively. Task management, in my view, is fundamentally about time management. When you manage your time well, you can have successful businesses and achieve outstanding output each day.

How would you define your leadership style, and what principles do you value most as a leader?

Ratan Tata has inspired me with his unique approach to leadership and business. Even though we recently lost this incredible icon, I think it’s essential to spotlight a few of his guiding principles that resonate with me.First off, he knew how to spot great talent and really believed in his team. Second, he led with compassion, showing us that kindness goes a long way. And third, he was all about sticking to your mission and making it happen. He often reminded us that in business, you’ll have your highs and lows, after all, as he said ‘even in an ECG a straight line means you are not alive!’ I totally agree with him; we grow from our failures and experiences. The values I hold dear are transparency, honesty, giving back to the community, and believing in my team. Ratan Tata’s legacy continues to light my path as I lead with these principles in mind.

What advice would you give to aspiring leaders in the business world?

First off, find a product or service that you genuinely believe in. Remember, don’t just chase after profits; focus on delivering quality. After all, a good product speaks for itself! Next, think about building a business that leaves a mark. I see too many young startups focusing on quick wins, but let’s be real, creating a lasting legacy is what truly matters. Think long-term! Finally, don’t forget about company culture. As we move forward, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and lose sight of our humanity. So, build a business that gives back to society and keeps those humanitarian values alive. Let’s make success mean something more!

By prioritizing innovation, community engagement, and integrity, he is not only addressing the diverse needs of Indian consumers but also setting a benchmark for future leaders. His insights on maintaining a balance between business success and social responsibility resonate deeply, reminding us that true leadership goes beyond profits; it’s about creating lasting impact.
