Bollywood’s superstar Salman Khan, who was once reportedly in a relationship with Aishwarya Rai, shared rare insights about their past when he appeared on Aap Ki Adalat. While Salman and Aishwarya, who ended their relationship in 2002, have typically remained reserved about their past, the actor addressed questions about the tumultuous end and subsequent chapters of Aishwarya’s life, including her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.
When asked about allegations that he was abusive towards Aishwarya, Salman maintained a diplomatic stance. He said, “Uske baare mein kya kahu sir. I just wish that, you know, I believe in one thing your personal life is your personal life. If I go to defend this, then sir, somewhere someone was a part of your life and you’d be denying it.” This response appeared to reflect Salman’s desire to respect their shared history without delving into controversy.
Salman further spoke warmly about Aishwarya’s life with Abhishek Bachchan. He expressed happiness at her marital union, praising Abhishek as a good partner. “The best thing to do is stay silent. Itne saal beet gaye hai, you know, she is someone’s wife, married into a big family. I am very happy that she is married to Abhishek. I think Abhishek is a great guy,” Salman stated. His remarks highlighted his wish for her happiness, even suggesting a selfless element to moving on from their relationship. He added, “You don’t want, once your friendship is over, you don’t want that person to be miserable without you. You want that person to be really really happy without you… there’s no guilt on your head.”
