Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood has expressed his profound sorrow, stating he is “heartbroken” following a tragic stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The incident resulted in at least 11 fatalities and left 50 individuals injured.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sonu Sood conveyed his grief, writing: “Heartbroken by the tragedy during the IPL celebrations in Bangalore. No celebration is worth a life; Prayers for the families and all those affected.”
The stampede occurred as a massive throng of fans gathered to greet the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the wake of their historic IPL victory. RCB had triumphed over Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final, securing their inaugural trophy in the league’s 18-year history.
On June 4, the Karnataka government confirmed that at least 11 people had died and over 30 were injured in the stampede near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. This tragic event unfolded as a colossal crowd assembled for the celebration of RCB’s maiden IPL trophy victory.
