Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan recently issued a heartfelt plea to the media, urging them to exercise the highest degree of sensitivity when covering a celebrity’s final journey. While he refrained from naming individuals in his public statement, his message arrived swiftly after news broke of Shefali Jariwala’s death on Friday night.
Dhawan emphasized that such intrusive coverage is not how anyone would wish their last rites to be documented.
Varun Dhawan directly addressed paparazzi and media outlets through his Instagram stories, specifically referencing their coverage of Shefali Jariwala’s passing. He wrote, “Again one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media. I just don’t understand why do u have to cover someone’s grief everyone looks so uncomfortable with this how is this benefitting anyone. My request to my friends in the media this isn’t the way someone would want their final journey covered.”

Following Shefali’s funeral, a visibly distraught Parag appeared before the media, respectfully requesting privacy with folded hands. He also implored, “Meri pari ke liye pray kijiyega aap sab log, please.” Parag, surrounded by police personnel, made a direct appeal to the media to pray for Shefali’s soul to find peace.
Varun Dhawan is absolutely correct.
