The highly anticipated 71st National Film Awards, which honor excellence in Indian cinema, were presented today. The awards celebrate exceptional accomplishments in a variety of fields, from production and music to acting and directing.
Earlier this evening, the final jury report was formally delivered to Minister of State Dr. L. Murugan and Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The jury members officially announced the names of the winners in each category at a news conference held at the National Media Centre in New Delhi after the submission.
Shah Rukh Khan split his “Best Actor” win from Jawan with Vikrant Massey for “12th Fail.” In the meantime, Rani Mukerji’s performance in “Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway” earned her the title of “Best Actress.” “Kathal” has taken home the title of “Best Film” in Hindi.
