Aakash Chopra Concerned About This Star Indian Player’s Poor Form

Shubman Gill is certainly one of the most talented young cricketers of the present times but his performance in West Indies has been a concern for the Indian team management, especially because India will soon play in the Asia Cup and then in the ODI World Cup.

Shubman Gill was in superb form in the IPL 2023 as he was the highest scorer of the tournament but he failed in performing well in the WTC finals 2023 and on the West Indies tour, he has failed in playing a big innings in all the three formats. In test matches, Shubman Gill scored 6, 10, and 29* runs in both the test matches while in the first two ODIs, he scored 7 and 34 runs and in the first three T20Is, he hasn’t even touched the two digit mark.

Recently, the former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra shed his opinion in regard to Shubman Gill’s form and he feels that it can hamper India’s chances of winning the World Cup.

Aakash Chopra said this on his YouTube channel, “At this point in time, the problem is with Shubman Gill’s form. During the IPL, I read in many places that he is no longer the prince but the king. But after that, there was the WTC final, he didn’t score too many runs there, played two Test matches against the West Indies, didn’t score runs there.”

He further added, “Then he played three ODIs, where he scored one half-century and a score of 34. He has single-digit scores in all three T20Is. It seems like he hasn’t scored runs at all on this West Indies tour. I feel there is one thing with him for sure – when the pitches are slightly slow, he will find it difficult to get into rhythm.”
