Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has once again displayed his acting prowess in the movie, Ghoomer in which he played the character of a cricket coach and it won’t be wrong to say that he is one of the busiest actors of the present times.
Junior Bachchan made his Bollywood debut in the year 2000 with JP Dutta directed Refugee which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher and others in important roles.
Though the Bachchan family is one of the most influential and richest families of the industry, there was a time when they went through a tough phase. Recently in an interview, AB Junior revealed that before his debut, they were going through a difficult phase and he left his college in the USA so that he could be with his father. He further stated that no one wanted to launch Amitabh Bachchan’s son and there was a time when he had nothing to wear for the Filmfare Awards.
He said, “Filmfare, 20 years ago, you planned months in advance about what you’d wear. And nobody was giving away free clothes in those days, you’d have to buy them yourself. You’d make sure you weren’t shooting that evening, the entire industry would show up, even if they weren’t nominated. It was an occasion. But then, I was like, ‘What to wear?’ It sounds weird to (say it now) but I didn’t have that many clothes, we couldn’t afford to… We were going through a rough time, and trying to be as frugal as we could be.”
The Dasvi actor further revealed, “I had nothing formal to wear, and I didn’t think it would be prudent to show up in jeans and a T-shirt. So, the sherwani that was made for my sister’s wedding a couple of years earlier, I wore that and went.”
Abhishek Bachchan also disclosed that it was the same award function in which JP Dutta was awarded with the Best Director award for Border and while coming down the stairs, Dutta saw Abhishek and asked him to meet later and eventually Abhishek Bachchan debuted with Refugee.
