The highly anticipated Dhoom 4 has officially entered the pre-production stage at Yash Raj Films (YRF), guided by Aditya Chopra, according to a report from Pinkvilla. The Dhoom franchise, which began in 2004, has been known for its high-octane action and unique storytelling approach. Aditya Chopra partnered with John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra for the first film, directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. John Abraham portrayed a grey character, adding a fresh perspective to the action genre.
With each installment, the Dhoom franchise raised the stakes. Hrithik Roshan joined as the antagonist in Dhoom 2 (2006), followed by Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3 (2013). Now, Dhoom 4 is set to usher in a new era with Ranbir Kapoor as the lead antagonist. The new film will be a complete reboot, with none of the original cast (Abhishek Bachchan & Uday Chopra) returning.
Aditya Chopra has always kept the Dhoom franchise close to his heart, and according to a source, he aims to reboot it for modern audiences. The script is currently being developed by Chopra alongside Vijay Krishna Acharya, who has been involved with the franchise before. The duo is working towards delivering a fresh cinematic experience with Dhoom 4.
While Ranbir Kapoor takes on the villain role, the reboot will introduce two new actors from the younger generation as the iconic cop duo. This fresh casting signals a significant shift in the franchise, as none of the original stars will reprise their roles, making Dhoom 4 a complete reinvention.
We are very excited for Dhoom 4, what about you?
