The highly anticipated Dhoom 4 has officially entered the pre-production stage at Yash Raj Films (YRF), guided by Aditya Chopra, according to a report from Pinkvilla. The Dhoom franchise, which began in 2004, has been known for its high-octane action and unique storytelling approach. Aditya Chopra partnered with John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra for the first film, directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. John Abraham portrayed a grey character, adding a fresh perspective to the action genre.
With each installment, the Dhoom franchise raised the stakes. Hrithik Roshan joined as the antagonist in Dhoom 2 (2006), followed by Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3 (2013). Now, Dhoom 4 is set to usher in a new era with Ranbir Kapoor as the lead antagonist. The new film will be a complete reboot, with none of the original cast (Abhishek Bachchan & Uday Chopra) returning.
Aditya Chopra has always kept the Dhoom franchise close to his heart, and according to a source, he aims to reboot it for modern audiences. The script is currently being developed by Chopra alongside Vijay Krishna Acharya, who has been involved with the franchise before.
