Actor Mahesh Thakur recently reminisced about a funny incident on the set of Hum Saath-Saath Hain, where he unintentionally annoyed his co-star Neelam Kothari. In an interview, Mahesh Thakur shared that the incident occurred while filming the famous “ABCD” song sequence. Playing a married couple, Mahesh and Neelam were required to perform coordinated dance steps on a moving bus. However, Mahesh struggled to keep his balance, which led to an accidental fall onto Neelam, leaving her momentarily irritated.
Neelam reacted to Mahesh’s mishap with a quick reaction, “What are you doing?” but before things got tense, Salman, Saif and Tabu jumped in and started teasing Neelam by saying, “If he falls for you, he wouldn’t fall like this,” helping to lighten the moment.
Mahesh recalled that this friendly banter quickly dispelled any tension, leading to a bond between him and Neelam for the rest of the shoot.
Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, Hum Saath-Saath Hain became a celebrated family drama, showcasing family values with an ensemble cast that included Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, and Karisma Kapoor. The film was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 1999.
