Adah Sharma recently opened up about living in Sushant Singh Rajput’s former flat, clarifying that she is staying there on rent. The flat had previously been in the news following Sushant’s tragic death in 2020. Adah emphasized that there’s nothing unusual about renting a place where a celebrity once lived, and she chose the flat purely for its location and amenities, not for its history.
Adah will be seen next in Vikram Bhatt directed Tumko Meri Kasam which will also star Anupam Kher, Ishwak Singh and Esha Deol.
When Adah was asked whether she had purchased the flat, she said, “I took that flat on rent. The Rs. 378 crores earned by The Kerala Story (2023) are not mine! Not just me, even my grandmother contributes to it. She argued that since she also resides there, she’ll also pay the rent. My mother doesn’t work, so she doesn’t contribute, but she cooks great food for us.”
She added, “That house belongs to a certain Mr. Lalwani. I believe he’s settled in South Africa. Even Sushant used to stay in that house on rent.”
During a press conference, Vikram Bhatt revealed that there is no furniture in Adah’s house and in response she said, “It means that I like space. I like dancing, and when I dance, I don’t want anything to get in the way. In Mumbai, we pay for space, and if I’m staying in such a beautiful house, I’d like to move around freely! That’s why there’s no furniture in my house.”
