Adani Green Energy wins 8,000 MW tender, signs 1,799 MW solar power supply pact

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has contracted with SECI to supply 1,799 MW of solar power. AGEL was the winner of the 8,000 MW manufacturing-linked solar tender.

AGEL signed a PPA with SECI on Monday to deliver 1,799 MW of solar power. It said this balanced PPA completes the electricity offtake agreements for the 8,000 MW manufacturing-linked solar tender awarded to AGEL by SECI in June 2020.

After the SECI manufacturing-linked solar photovoltaic tender, Adani Group established 2 GW of PV cell and module manufacturing facilities. “AGEL has already commissioned a solar PV cell and module manufacturing plant with a capacity of 2 GW per annum through its associate company Mundra Solar Energy Ltd (MSEL),” noted.
Adani Green has 19.8 GW PPAs.

The plant located in Mundra, Gujarat. Through its fully owned subsidiary Adani Renewable Energy Holding Four Ltd., AGEL owns 26% of MSEL.

Adani Green said it now has 19.8 GW of PPAs and 20.6 GW of merchant capacity locked-in. The statement stated that the portfolio is fully de-risked for 45 GW capacity by 2030 with over 2 lac acres of land in resource-rich India.

Adani Green supports India’s decarbonisation and Atmanirbhar Bharat aims. Adani Green Energy CEO Amit Singh said he was pleased to sign the largest green PPA and enable sustainable energy.
