After Poor Air Quality, Now Severe Water Shortage, Problems Of Delhites Are On A Rise

The residents of the national capital of India, New Delhi, are already having problems breathing clear air as the AQI is very high and now a Delhi government minister has issued a severe water alert in the capital.

The AQI of Delhi is very poor because of the stubble burning that is taking place constantly in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana and pollution is already very high in the NCR region.

Atishi Marlena who is currently the Education Minister of Delhi is also handling the water department as she was handed over the department few months back after it was taken away from Sauarabh Bharadwaj. Today Atishi addressed mediapersons and alleged that the Jal Board is not getting funds from August as finance secretary Ashish Verma stopped the funding after being directed by chief secretary in this regard.

Atishi Marlena stated, “Funds are not being released even after the written order of the finance minister. There’s no money even for salary and routine work. There may be severe water shortage, dirty water and sewer overflow in many areas in the coming days.”

Atishi further adds that all the contractors have refused to work due to lack of money as payments can’t be made to them.

What do you think is going to happen in Delhi in the next few days?
