Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, who was initially set to direct King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, has stepped down from the project. Shah Rukh Khan will now collaborate on the film with Siddharth Anand, his director from Pathaan.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Sujoy Ghosh has moved on and is in talks for a new thriller with Shahid Kapoor. However, Shahid’s team has refuted these claims, denying any collaboration with the director.
According to a report in Mid-Day, Sujoy Ghosh and Shahid Kapoor had considered working together on a project back in 2021, but scheduling conflicts prevented it from materializing. Now, there is speculation that the duo has resumed discussions and plans to begin production on the film in 2025. Sujoy is said to have had the script ready for some time, with the project expected to feature his trademark elements of suspense and drama. A source shared with Mid-Day that while Shahid had expressed interest in the script previously, the timing didn’t align. Now, both are reportedly making efforts to coordinate their schedules and move forward with the film.
However, a leading publication has reported that Shahid Kapoor’s team has denied these rumors, stating that there are no ongoing discussions between the actor and Sujoy Ghosh regarding any project.
