After Sachin, Virat Kohli’s Deepfake Video Promoting An App Goes Viral

Deepfake videos have become a matter of great concern in the present times as we have come across deepfake videos of celebs on a regular basis. In such videos, celebs are seen promoting various apps (gaming, betting, etc.) and many fans may get misguided after watching these videos.

Recently a deepfake video of the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has gone viral in which he is seen promoting an app and assuring the listeners that he has earned Rs. 81K after investing just Rs.1000.

The video was shared on X and to make the video look more credible, scamsters edited it in such a manner that it looked like an interview in which Virat Kohli was praising the app. The voices of both – the journalist and Virat Kohli had been edited and lip synced in such a manner that it was difficult to find out that it’s fake until and unless a person watches the video carefully.

Here is the video:

Earlier, a deepfake video of Sachin Tendulkar also went viral and Little Master himself shared it and expressed his concern over the misuse of technology.

Let’s hope that law enforcement agencies take strict action against such scamsters.
