AI integration to benefit Engineering, Sales, and Marketing jobs the most says report

According to a new Bain & Company report, AI integration into business processes will reshape job roles, with engineering, sales, and marketing benefiting most over the next 18 months.

Over 570 executives were surveyed, and 75% said AI met or exceeded their expectations. Software leaders expect AI to boost top-line growth and customer retention.

David Crawford, Global Head of Bain’s Technology practice, warns that companies waiting to see about AI risk falling behind in this fast-changing landscape.

The study found that 89% of software companies use AI to differentiate their products, 15% more than other sectors. Early AI adopters are seeing productivity gains as they explore new AI applications for their operations.

The report also notes the growing need for AI and ML engineers, especially for building or integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into company processes.

Generative AI is expected to automate demand and lead generation, digital self-service sales, customer success, and support, revolutionizing how companies market and sell their products and services.
