Aamir Khan’s Son Junaid Reveals That Shooting Experience Of Loveyapa Was More Intense Than Maharaja

Junaid Khan, the son of Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, is all set to make his theatrical debut with Loveyapa, a romantic comedy where he stars alongside Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. As excitement builds for this fresh pairing, Junaid recently opened up about the contrasting experiences of working on his OTT debut, Maharaj, and his upcoming big-screen venture.

According to Junaid, the two projects couldn’t be more different, both in tone and execution. “They are worlds apart, even in how the films were made,” he revealed. Reflecting on the shift from his first project to Loveyapa, Junaid described the experience of shooting the romantic comedy as surprisingly intense.

A significant part of that intensity, he explained, stemmed from the youthful energy of the team behind the film. With a first-time Director of Photography and Production Designer on board, along with Phantom Films returning to production after a hiatus, the set was charged with enthusiasm and fresh ideas. “We had a very young crew with a first-time DOP, first-time Production Designer, and Phantom Films. That brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm on set,” Junaid shared.

Loveyapa promises to be a modern take on Gen-Z relationships, weaving romance with humor. The story follows Gaurav and Baani, whose parents issue a playful challenge to test their trust before marriage. The couple must exchange phones for a day, leading to a series of comedic and heartwarming moments. With its unique premise and youthful charm, the film aims to resonate with a new generation of audiences, marking an exciting start to Junaid’s journey in mainstream cinema.
