Before tying the knot with Twinkle Khanna in 2001, Akshay Kumar had his share of relationships. Among them was a brief romance with his Mr. Bond co-star Sheeba Akashdeep. In a recent interview, Sheeba candidly reflected on their past, revealing how their immediate connection blossomed into something more during the making of the 1992 film.
Recalling their bond, Sheeba described their relationship as one built on mutual fondness and common interests. “When you are young and working in close proximity, ho jata hai ishq (you fall in love),” she admitted. Their shared passion for fitness and their families’ close ties played a role in bringing them together. “We were both fitness-crazy, and our families were also friends. My nani and his mom would even play cards together,” she shared
However, despite the initial spark, their relationship did not last. When asked about what went wrong, Sheeba was quick to respond, attributing their breakup to their youth. “We were both kids. I don’t even talk about it. I find it so funny. What’s there to talk about? It’s been over three decades, and I barely even remember much from that time,” she said with a laugh.
Unlike some relationships that evolve into lifelong friendships, Sheeba revealed that she and Akshay did not remain in touch after parting ways. While their romance was short-lived, it remains a lesser-known chapter from Akshay Kumar’s early days in Bollywood—one that Sheeba now looks back on with amusement rather than nostalgia.
