Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are two of the biggest cricketers of all times and as they both played at the same time, it is quite obvious that they have been compared.
Everybody has their opinions about these two cricketers and recently former South African cricketer Ali Bacher also shed his opinion as to whom he feels is greater.
Ali Bacher said “I mean, he (Tendulkar) is a freak, he’s from a different planet. I’ve seen so many of his great innings but for me, it’s all about how he is as a person. Jeez, has he ever had an argument? I don’t think so. He’s just this greatness, this happiness, personified. You know, the Australians believe Brian Lara was better than him, I say rubbish. I say Brian Lara played before four million people. Man, this bloke had 1.4 billion people. Can you imagine the pressure of this bloke? Don’t tell me that.”
The Indian team is currently in South Africa and their performance in the first test match was quite disappointing. Speaking about struggles of the Indian batters, the former Proteas pacer Allan Border also made an interesting comment about Sachin Tendulkar as he said, “Only person I know who played us well was Tendulkar, who triggered (had a trigger movement) while batting in South Africa rather than stand on middle-stump. He pressed forward and left the ball amazingly well.”
Well, for Indians, Sachin is the God of cricket so there’s no need for discussion.
