Allu Arjun Admits He Didn’t Get Movies After His Debut Because Of His Looks

Fans of Allu Arjun are very excited for Pushpa 2 which is set to release on 15 August this year and he is certainly one of the biggest stars of the country but his journey was also full of ups and downs despite the fact that he belonged to a filmy family.

Allu Arjun made his debut with Gangotri in 2003, the movie was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and it also starred Aditi Agarwal and Prakash Raj in important roles. The film was a big hit but still Allu Arjun didn’t get good offers and recently the actor talked about his journey during an event.

Allu Arjun revealed that even after Gangotri becoming a hit, he didn’t get good offers because of his looks. Here’s what he said, “Naa Gangotri cinema hit aindi. Nen ekkado chudadaniki pedda goppa ga lenu anesi naku pedda great films raledu (Gangotri was a hit but I didn’t look great, so good films didn’t come my way). The film was a blockbuster but it’s my failure as an artiste that I couldn’t make a mark. I went from 0 to -100, I was a nobody.”

He added that his life changed after he worked in Sukumar’s Arya (2004), he got the offer when he attended the screening of a movie Dil which starred Nithiin; Allu Arjun said, “That’s where Sukumar approached me for Arya, he was a debut director but I liked what he had written. Chiranjeevi also heard the script, I also received a shield from him when the film completed 125 days in theatres against all odds. When I watched Ravi Teja’s Idiot, I wanted to star in a cool film like that. Arya is my Idiot. I knew I could dance well and I just wanted the opportunity to prove it. I got that with the song, Thakadhimithom.”

Have you watched Arya? Did you like it?
