“Allu Arjun Broke His Foot”, Ganesh Acharya Reveals What Happened During Jathara Shoot

If Pushpa Raj seemed unbreakable on screen, the reality behind the scenes tells a different story. Allu Arjun endured significant injuries while filming the intense Jathara sequence in Pushpa 2: The Rule. Choreographer Ganesh Acharya recently disclosed that the actor sustained multiple injuries—including a broken foot and repeated neck injuries every few days—yet continued to push through without hesitation.

The film’s electrifying Gango Renuka Thalli (Jathara) song saw Allu Arjun in a striking transformation, dressed in a saree, adorned with makeup and heavy jewellery, in a tribute to Goddess Gangamma Thalli. Ganesh Acharya, who choreographed the sequence, heaped praise on the actor’s unwavering dedication. Despite the grueling demands of the shoot, which lasted 29 days non-stop, Allu Arjun never faltered, proving his relentless commitment to his craft.

While speaking in an interview, Ganesh Acharya emphasized the difficulties involved in executing the sequence. “He dedicated five years to both the Pushpa films. In Jathara, he performed wearing a saree, ghungroos, a necklace, a blouse, and various other props. Every 5-10 days, he would injure himself, sometimes breaking his foot or suffering neck injuries, but he never gave up,” he said.

Even Allu Arjun admitted that when director Sukumar first introduced the concept of the Jathara sequence, he was initially nervous. The scale and complexity of the idea seemed daunting, and he wasn’t sure how he would manage it. However, as always, he embraced the challenge with determination, proving once again why he is one of the most revered actors in Indian cinema.
