Telugu superstar Allu Arjun will remain in jail on Friday night due to procedural delays in completing bail formalities after his arrest earlier in the day. Despite being granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court, administrative setbacks, including the absence of the jail superintendent, prevented his release. He is expected to be released on Saturday morning.
The arrest follows a tragic incident at the December 4 premiere of his highly anticipated film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A 35 years old woman lost her life and her 8-year son sustained injuries in a stampede-like situation that unfolded as thousands of fans gathered to see the actor.
Case Details
Charges Filed: Police have booked Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Complainant: The family of the deceased woman filed a formal complaint, prompting an investigation.
Court Actions: On December 11, Arjun’s legal team moved the Telangana High Court seeking to dismiss the FIR.
Allu Arjun was initially remanded to 14-day judicial custody by a local court in Hyderabad. However, the interim bail granted earlier today could not be executed due to administrative hurdles, prolonging his stay in jail.
