Ambati Rayudu Takes A Dig At Virat Kohli & RCB After KKR Lifts IPL 2024 Trophy

Ambati Rayudu took a dig at Virat Kohli and RCB after KKR’s IPL win! Rayudu praised KKR’s team effort, implying Kohli’s Orange Cap wasn’t enough for RCB.

The IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders has become the three times champions after lifting the trophy for the third time. Yesterday, under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership, KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final match of the IPL 2024 which was played at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

KKR’s IPL win

The toss was won by the Hyderabad team and it decided to bat first, however it turned out to be a disastrous decision as SRH registered the lowest ever total in the IPL final and it also became the first team to get all out in the final. SRH could score just 113 runs in 18.3 overs which was successfully chased by KKR in just 10.3 overs. Venkatesh Iyer played a superb knock of 52 runs and Rahmanullah Gurbaz also played a useful knock of 39 runs and helped their team in winning the match.

Rayudu’s Comments

The former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu again took a subtle dig at Virat Kohli and RCB after KKR won the trophy, while speaking on a sports channel, Rayudu said, “Congratulations to the KKR team for really standing up for stalwarts like Narine, Russell and Starc and also contribute their share in the team’s win. That’s how a team wins the IPL. We have seen this over the years. It’s not the Orange Cap that wins you the IPL but it is the contributions like 300 runs each (of many players).”
Virat Kohli has won the Orange Cap this year as he has scored 741 runs in this season; on the other hand, four batters of KKR scored more than 350 runs – Sunil Narine (488), Phil Salt (435), Venkatesh Iyer (370) & skipper Shreyas Iyer (354).
Congratulations KKR!
