The Richard Mille RM 52-04 “Skull” Blue Sapphire is regarded as one of the rarest watchmaking watches in the world. Only the top Richard Mille clients can access it, according to the Indian Horology Instagram feed. Furthermore, according to luxury watch retailer Vintage Grail, the RM 52-04 Skull is an uncommon sight for collectors because only three pieces of the watch have ever been produced. A post on their Instagram page states, “You’d be lucky to have seen these in your lifetime.”
The Richard Mille RM 52-04 has a tonneau-shaped casing with a pirate skull and crossbones and is made entirely of sapphire. According to Indian Horology, the sapphire case back shows the back of the skull, which is a component of the movement as a center bridge. Furthermore, the movement is fastened to the casing by four bridges that resemble the “bones” of a pirate flag.
The Richard Mille RM 52-04 “Skull” Blue Sapphire watch, owned by Anant Ambani, costs USD 2,625,000, or around ₹22,51,90,481 or 22 crore.
For those unaware, the Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille is renowned for its expensive timepieces and unique designs. The famous and wealthy now use it as a status symbol.
