Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, currently starring in the cyber-thriller CTRL, recently shared two embarrassing incidents related to online privacy. In an interview with Netflix India, Ananya recalled accidentally revealing her and her close friend Suhana Khan’s contact numbers on social media.
Ananya recounted the first incident, where she inadvertently shared Suhana’s number on Instagram. She said, “I was FaceTiming Suhana and she wasn’t picking up, so I took a screenshot and posted it on Instagram. Her number was visible in the screenshot. Later, Suhana called me and said her number had been hacked, and that’s when she found out I had leaked it.”
The second incident occurred during a press conference. Ananya mentioned that while giving her number to reporters, the interview was being recorded and later uploaded to YouTube, exposing her number to the public. She said, “My number got leaked during an interview, and it’s changed now because my phone got taken away. Reporters asked for my number, but the interview had started and it got uploaded with my number visible. That’s how it got leaked.”
CTRL is a gripping cyber-thriller, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, which explores the dangers of technology and artificial intelligence. In the film, Ananya Panday and Vihaan Samat portray an influencer couple, Nella Awasthi and Joe Mascarenhas. When Joe betrays Nella, she turns to an AI app to erase him from her life. However, things spiral out of control when the app takes on a life of its own. The film was released on Netflix India on October 4.
