Ankita Lokhande, who will play Yamunabai in “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” opened up about the part she was playing and how actor-director Randeep Hooda assisted her in bringing the beauty of the character to the screen.
A day before Martyr’s Day, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” a film that pays tribute to all the heroes who gave their lives to defend the nation’s freedom, will be released in theatres throughout the globe.
The film, which is helmed by actor Randeep Hooda, who also plays Savarkar, seems to be more than simply a biopic rather, it’s an ambitious and epic recounting of India’s military movement for independence.
Ankita spoke about her character and her collaboration with Randeep Hooda, saying, “Randeep helped me believe in Yamunabai throughout the film.” Of course, he’s a fantastic actor. He does, however, have a clear vision as a filmmaker. He genuinely connected with every character in the movie. He was incredibly helpful in educating me about Yamunabai. He can advise you on what is right and wrong since he is a skilled actor. He was helpful in providing me with extremely specific character characteristics. Veer Savarkar and Yamunabai have a number of situations where we can see their lovely chemistry.
Their chemistry is just remarkable. I don’t have many dialogues in this movie. I believe that the beauty of my character is that Randeep chose to depict my expressions more through my eyes than through words.”
Unveiled on Monday was the trailer for the film “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” which is a cinematic depiction of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, also known as Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, one of the most significant and contentious individuals in Indian history during the Indian Independence fight.
“Hum sabne padha hai ki BHARAT ko aazadi ahinsa se mili hai lekin yeh voh kahaani nahi hai” (We have all read that India attained freedom through non-violence, but this is not that story) sets the tone for the trailer as Randeep Hooda, playing Veer Savarkar, walks into the Kaala Paani prison.
The travels and tribulations of freedom warrior Veer Savarkar in the struggle for India’s independence are captured in the movie.
Along with showcasing the historic meeting between the two powerful figures, Mahatma Gandhi and Veer Savarkar, the teaser also highlights the divergences in their respective ideas and strategies for the Indian independence movement.
The teaser teases the politics of that era while revealing the film’s focus on the Indian armed revolution and featuring leaders and martyrs like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madanlal Dhingra, Bhagat Singh, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. This makes the trailer highly anticipated due to the revelations it will reveal about the modern Indian history, which the film seeks to rewrite.
