Ankita Raina and Zhibek Kulambayeva Claim Victory in ITF Women’s Open Doubles

In the ITF Women’s Open singles competition, home favorite Ankita Raina lost in straight sets to unseeded Yeonwoo Ku, but on Saturday, she and her Kazakh partner Zhibek Kulambayeva won the doubles championship.

The top-seeded singles player in India, Ankita, fell to her Korean opponent 6-7 (4) 3-6 in the round of sixteen.

Top seed Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia also lost, falling to third seed Justina Mikulskyte of Lithuania 4-6 2-6 7-6 (0).

Later, Ankita and Kulambayeva worked together to defeat Justina Mikulskyte and Sweden’s Jacqueline Cabaj Awad 6-4 6-2.
