The Indian actor Anupam Kher is one of the most versatile actors of the film industry and he has played many memorable roles in his career including the one of Pushkar Nath in Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directed The Kashmir Files which was based on the atrocities committed on Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s.
The Kashmir Files has won two National Awards – ‘Best Feature Film on National Integration’ and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for Pallavi Joshi. Anupam Kher has never tried to hide his disappointment over not getting the best actor award for his role in the movie.
The National Award for Best Actor has been given to Allu Arjun for his role in movie Pushpa and during an event, Anupam Kher once again said that his performance in TKF was worthy of a National Award but he also added that all those who have got the awards totally deserved them.
During the event, Anupam said, “My role in Kashmir Files was soulful as I did not have to depend on acting. I did not have to fake my emotions. I try and bring truth in my emotions as some roles do not require honesty of that level because it requires craft.”
Talking about the National Award, Anupam Kher stated, “I applauded Allu Arjun (who got the National Award for Best Actor) when I saw Pushpa in a theatre. I had tweeted about it.” He also added that he is allowed to feel bad for not getting the award and also to express his disappointment as well.
What do you think, does Anupam Kher deserve National Award more than Allu Arjun?
