Apple Launches New Invites App for iPhone to Create and Share Custom Invitations

Apple launched the Invites app for iPhone on Tuesday, offering a new method for making and sending personalized invitations to loved ones. Anyone can RSVP, regardless of whether they have an Apple Account or an Apple device, but only those with iCloud+ subscriptions can create them. They can interact with Apple Music playlists, share invitations, RSVP to events they’ve attended, and contribute to shared albums using the Invites app.

Apple did not promote this new product while showcasing iOS 18 and its capabilities at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025. Nevertheless, it was stated that references to it were found in the code of the most recent iOS 18.3 beta. It has now been implemented all across the world.

Apple Invites App
In a press article, the Cupertino-based tech behemoth revealed its new Invites app. “It combines features our users already know and love across iPhone, iCloud, and Apple Music, making it easy to plan special events,” according to Apple. All iPhone models running iOS 18 or later can download it for free from the App Store. You can also access it online by going to icloud.com/invites.

With Apple Invites, users can choose a picture from their wallpaper collection or library to establish an event. Additionally, it uses the company’s Apple Intelligence suite, whose Image Playground feature allows users to generate unique images with text-based prompts that include concepts, descriptions, and individuals. According to the business, AI-powered writing tools can be used to modify the language of the invitation.

The software makes event management simple for hosts. Within Invites, they can evaluate RSVPs, share invitations with a link, and choose which information to include in the preview. The new app also allows guests to report an event, read and reply to invitations, and select which personal information is shared with others. Alternatively, they can browse online without needing an Apple device or even an iCloud+ subscription.

Participants can add images and videos to a specific Shared Album inside each invite using Apple’s Invites app. Guests can also get event-specific soundtracks through Apple Music within the app. This enhances the features already available with an iCloud+ subscription, including custom email domains, Private Relay, Hide My Email, HomeKit Secure Video, and more storage.
