Junaid Khan Says He Wouldn’t Have Cast Himself In Loveyapa For This Reason

Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is preparing to make his big-screen debut with Loveyapa, a romantic comedy that pairs him alongside Khushi Kapoor, daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. While the project marks an exciting new chapter for both young actors, Junaid recently admitted that he initially had doubts about taking on the lead role.

In an interview, Junaid Khan revealed that he was unsure whether he was the right fit for the character. His own personality, he felt, was far removed from the role he was expected to portray. “I was a bit surprised that they wanted me because I felt like my personality was so far away from the character,” he shared. “I even asked if they were sure about their choice. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have cast myself in this part, but Advait (Chandan) and Madhu (Mantena) sir were very confident in their decision.”

Loveyapa is an official remake of the Tamil hit Love Today, and both Junaid and Khushi were drawn to the project after watching the original. Junaid recalled how director Advait Chandan approached him with the idea. “He told me he had the rights to this Tamil film and asked me to watch it. He explained the premise in one line—that a guy visits his girlfriend’s family, and her father asks them to exchange phones. I loved the idea and was instantly excited. Pradeep Ranganathan did a fantastic job directing, writing, and acting in Love Today, and it was truly an incredible film,” he said.

With an intriguing storyline and a fresh pairing, Loveyapa is already generating buzz, and audiences are eager to see how Junaid and Khushi bring this story to life on the big screen.
