Archana Puran Singh is gearing up for a busy October as she resumes her role on The Great Indian Kapil Show and returns to the silver screen after a four-year break. The actress will star in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video alongside Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, marking an exciting comeback to films. In an interview, Archana opened up about her absence from films and the reasons behind her hiatus.
Archana explained that her break from films was primarily due to her packed schedule on The Kapil Sharma Show when it aired on television. Despite receiving consistent film offers, including one from renowned producer Vashu Bhagnani, she couldn’t take on additional projects due to the show’s grueling pace. “We didn’t get any breaks on television. We had fun doing episodes back-to-back, and the entire team was always energized,” Archana shared. However, this left little room for her to explore other acting opportunities.
Now that The Great Indian Kapil Show has transitioned to Netflix and airs in seasons, Archana finally has more flexibility in her schedule. This change allowed her to accept roles in films again, leading to her involvement in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. “I’m thrilled that I have the time to accept films now. I had to turn down many film offers in the past, but I’m happy there’s a better balance now,” she said.
Archana recalled several instances when she had to decline film roles due to her commitments to Kapil’s show. She revealed that she often received offers to shoot overseas, but her schedule made it difficult to commit. “I’d get calls asking me to come to Scotland or Mauritius for a 20-day shoot, but I had to decline because of my commitments to the show,” she explained. One such offer came while she was in England, but the dates clashed with her return to India for filming.
Despite missing out on several opportunities, Archana has no regrets. “I thoroughly enjoyed that journey, and I’m equally enjoying this new chapter,” she said, expressing excitement for her film comeback.
With The Great Indian Kapil Show now airing new episodes every Saturday on Netflix and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video set for release on October 11, Archana Puran Singh is ready to make a mark both on television and in cinema once again.
