Urfi Javed has strongly criticized those calling for legal action against Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia following the latter’s recent remarks on India’s Got Latent.
Expressing her views on Instagram, Urfi shared a note defending Samay amid the ongoing controversy. While acknowledging that Ranveer’s comments were inappropriate, she asserted that they were not severe enough to warrant imprisonment.
Urfi Javed wrote on Instagram stories, “You don’t like certain people, you don’t like the things that they do or say but demanding for them to go to jail for that? Are you serious? Ummmm! I don’t know. Samay is a friend, I have his back but even rest of the people on the panel, what they said was distasteful yes but I don’t think they deserve to go to jail for that.”
For those unfamiliar with the situation, Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, has been under fire for his remarks on the show.
During an interaction with a contestant, he allegedly made an inappropriate comment involving body parts and suggested an indecent act in exchange for a sum of Rs 2 crore. The controversy intensified when he asked a highly offensive question: “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?”
The backlash against Ranveer and Samay has led to an FIR being lodged against them, with many people voicing their outrage and condemning Allahbadia. Among those demanding strict action is comedian Sunil Pal, who earlier today insisted on severe punishment for both individuals.
