The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Bhagwan Ram was attended by many people including the famous actor Arun Govil who played the character of Bhagwan Ram in Ramanand Sagar directed TV serial, Ramayan which was aired on Doordarshan in 1987./
Arun Govil’s performance as Bhagwan Ram was so mesmerizing that till date people see Bhagwan Ram in him and they seek his blessings by touching his feet. Every time a serial or a movie is made on Hindu epic Ramayan, it is compared with Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan and majority of the Indian audiences still prefer to watch Sagar’s serial despite the fact that new serials and movies have VFX and special effects.
When Arun Govil was asked to speak on the Pran Pratishtha event, he sounded a little disappointed as he said, “Sapna toh bhaiya poora ho gaya par mujhe darshan nahi hue. Main kuch nahi keh sakta iss samay” (The dream has been fulfilled but I did not get the ‘darshan’. I can’t say anything at the moment).
Well, it is really sad but hopefully he will get darshan next time whenever he will visit Ayodhya.
