Several years have passed since Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani ended their relationship, but the actress still faces harsh comments from fans regarding their breakup. In a recent interview, Asha shared her experience of moving on from the relationship and the challenges she continues to face.
Asha revealed that it took her a long time to recover emotionally. Speaking about relationships in the entertainment industry, she mentioned how actors who work together on shows often end up dating because of the chemistry they develop on screen. “It just happens,” she said, acknowledging the pressures that come with fans loving their on-screen chemistry.
When asked how she coped with her breakup with Rithvik, Asha admitted that it was a difficult phase, especially since both families were involved. “There is a lot of grief, of course, and then you have to handle everything because families are involved, and if you are an actor, there are so many people, fan clubs… I still get so many gaalis (abusive messages), and so does he,” she revealed.
Asha also shared insights into her personal growth during this time. After years of always being in relationships, she said she has been single for a while and found it liberating. “Initially, I thought I was not someone who could be single; I always dated someone. But it is so liberating. Your growth becomes 2x when you are single because you focus on yourself,” she explained.
Asha, who is currently appearing in Jio Cinema’s Honeymoon Photographer, added that while she is open to being in a relationship again in the future, she will share details about her personal life only when she feels ready.
