On December 27, an earthquake with a Richter scale value of 3.4 struck Tezpur, Assam, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
The NCS reports that the earthquake happened at a depth of 20 km at about 5:55 in the morning. The NCS determined that the earthquake’s epicenter was located at latitude 26.70 and longitude 93.22.
The NCS reported on X, stating, “For additional information, locate the earthquake 42 km east of Tezpur, Assam, India, on December 27, 2023, at 05:55:35 IST, latitude 26.70 & longitude 93.22, depth 20 km, and magnitude 3.4.”
