Atishi, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), would also be in charge of planning, budgeting, and revenue in the Delhi cabinet. Before, Kailash Gehlot was present with the three departments.
Following Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain’s resignations in March, Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj were appointed to the cabinet. Jain was detained last year in connection with a money laundering case, while Sisodia was detained in connection with an excise policy matter.

A dispute had started between the AAP administration and LG Saxena’s office over the cabinet reshuffle file prior to Atishi’s appointment to three new departments.
The AAP administration had accused LG Saxena of omitting the cabinet reshuffle suggestion. The sources in LG Saxena’s office have refuted this assertion.
The reorganization of the Cabinet, which saw minister Atishi receive the revenue and finance portfolios, was authorised by Delhi’s lieutenant governor VK Saxena. Atishi now oversees 12 divisions, including power and education.
The Aam Aadmi Party had appeared to be at odds with the Lt. Governor, accusing him of failing to approve the Cabinet reshuffle file that had been sent four days earlier.
