Heart attack and stroke are two major causes of death in India, with heart disease accounting for more than 28% of all fatalities. Life expectancy has also been affected by brain stroke, which can result in brain damage, disability, and death. India’ renowned medical expert, Dr. Chetan Diliprao Bijwal, believes that awareness about heart attack and stroke can help reduce morbidity and death. In this article, he has explained how prompt medical attention can help minimize brain or heart damage, and increasing public awareness of the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke can result in better survival rates. NO CITIZEN OF INDIA SHOULD LOOSE HIS OR HER LIFE DUE TO LACK OF AWARENESS OF COMMON MEDICAL EDUCATION – This is Ultimate goal of Dr Chetan.

Dr. Chetan says chest pain, sweating, pain radiating to the arm nausea vomiting breathlessness, the above symptoms mentioned are typical but occur or are seen in 2 patients out of 10. Hyperacidity, jaw pain, burning sensation heaviness in the chest, upper or epigastric pain, dizziness, uneasiness lightheadedness are common symptoms of a heart attack. People often mistakenly assume it is because of gastritis and miss out on a heart attack and miss out golden period. The same goes for brain attacks.

Slurring of speech, facial deviation to one side, one side upper and or lower limb weakness, and loss of balance are the most common symptoms of brain attack. People assume this to be a generalized weakness and miss the precious golden period of 3 to 4.5 hrs. You must rush to tertiary medical center and get your brain scan done CT and or MRI brain within 3 hours and start treatment accordingly.

In the case of a heart attack, ECG shows changes only in 60 percent of cases. One normal ECG or normal cardiac markers do not rule out a heart attack. Hence, serial ECG and blood test and 24 to 48 hrs admission in the hospital are mandatory to diagnose acute coronary syndrome vs non cardiac chest pain.ECG 2Decho , Stress Test or TMT sos Coronary Angiography Confirms the Diagnosis.
