The unthinkable happened yesterday as Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team which was unbeatable till the semi-finals lost the finals of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to Australia by 6 wickets. The Australian cricket team dominated team India in all the segments, especially batting and bowling as India could manage to post a total of 240 runs on the scoreboard in their 50 overs.
The Australian team successfully chased the target of 241 in 43 overs with six wickets in hand and became the new World Champions. The Aussie batter Travis Head played a match winning knock of 137 runs and Marnus Labuschagne (58* runs) ensured that his team lifted the trophy.
As Australia won the finals, the social media was flooded with congratulatory messages for Australia and one of them was from former Pakistani skipper Babar Azam.
Babar Azam took to his Instagram story and wrote, “Congratulations @CricketAus! What a commanding performance in the final”
However, soon Pakistani fans started claiming that Babar Azam has taken revenge from Virat Kohli who congratulated England for their win in the finals of the T20 World Cup against Pakistan.
