While Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar continually advertised their movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the outcome fell short of their expectations. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that the movie barely generated Rs 7 crore on its second day in India after grossing Rs 15.65 crore on its opening day. With this, the domestic total of the film reaches Rs 22.65 crore. The Ali Abbas Zafar-directed picture was marketed as a high-end spectacle with some risky acts from the two main stars.
Eid was a holiday when Bade Miyan Chote Miyan opened, and although the movie didn’t do well on its first day, there were signs that it would improve during the long weekend. Whether the movie picks up this next weekend is still to be seen. The lack of favourable reviews for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan might further hurt its collecting.
The movie debuted with Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which likewise had a sluggish start to the box office. After receiving paid screenings the day before, Maidaan earned Rs 7.1 crore on its opening day and only managed to make an additional Rs 2.75 crore on its second day, for a total of Rs 9.85 crore at the box office.
Lately, Akshay Kumar hasn’t had much luck at the box office. In 2022, he saw a run of box office bombs, including Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, Bachchhan Paandey, and Raksha Bandhan. OMG 2, which was produced by Akshay and included him in a lengthy appearance, offered 2023 a glimmer of hope. OMG 2 was a financial success. But 2024 hasn’t gotten off to a great start. Considering its large budget, Samrat Prithviraj one of the worst failures of 2023 also had a better opening than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. According to Bollywood Hungama, it earned Rs 68.05 crore at the box office by the conclusion of its run, having generated Rs 23.3 crore in its first two days in India.
Miyan Bade Alaya F, Manushi Chillar, Ronit Roy, Sonakshi Sinha, and Prithviraj Sukumaran are also featured in Chote Miyan.
