Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to win the upcoming Champions Trophy. As they prepare to kick off their campaign against India in Dubai on February 20, Shanto emphasized that Bangladesh is going into the tournament with the mindset of becoming champions.
While speaking to a cricket portal, Shanto reaffirmed his belief in the team’s potential, stating that all eight participating teams have the capability to win the title. “We are going to the Champions Trophy to become champions. Every team in the tournament is strong and deserving, but I truly believe our team has what it takes,” he said.
He further highlighted the importance of self-belief, adding that none of the players are feeling undue pressure. “Everyone is committed and believes in their own abilities. We don’t know what Allah has written in our fate, but we are working hard and giving our best. I am confident we can achieve our goal,” Shanto remarked.
Bangladesh has been placed in Group A alongside India, New Zealand, and Pakistan. Following their opening clash against India, they will face New Zealand on February 24 before taking on Pakistan on February 27. With high spirits and a determined squad, Bangladesh is aiming to make a strong impact in the tournament.
