The South African cricket team has been performing quite well in this tournament and yesterday they once again showed that they are strong contenders of the World Cup 2023 trophy. South Africa and New Zealand clashed against each other in a match which was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune and in this match, the Kiwis got defeated by 190 runs.
Batting first, South Africa posted a total of 357/4 on the scoreboard with the help of century knocks of Quinton de Kock (114 runs) and Rassie van der Dussen (133 runs). However, in response, the New Zealand cricket team got all out for just 167 runs in 36 overs and Rassie was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb batting.
Quinton de Kock, the wicketkeeper-batter is in sublime form in this World Cup as till now he has scored 4 centuries in 7 matches and he is the leading run scorer of the tournament with 545 runs. The Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan posted a hilarious tweet which sums up the condition of the bowlers who bowled to Quinton de Kock.
In his tweet, he posted a video of a young girl who describes the condition in a funny manner and he captioned it as, “Bowlers after bowling to Quinton de Kockin this World Cup. A dream World Cup for a player before retirement”.
What makes it more special is the fact that this is Quinton’s last ODI World Cup as he will take retirement from ODI format after the WC2023 and he will be available only for T20 cricket.
