Shilpa Shirodkar, a popular actress from the 1990s, has joined the cast of Bigg Boss 18 as a contestant. After years away from the spotlight, Shilpa is using the platform to make her Bollywood comeback. While her sister Namrata Shirodkar and brother-in-law Mahesh Babu have not publicly commented on her participation, Shilpa revealed in an interview that both are excited and supportive of her decision.
In an interview, Shilpa expressed that her family, including Namrata and Mahesh, is proud of her choice to enter the reality show. “They are very happy for me and know that whatever I do, I’ll do it myself. As a close-knit family, they have been very supportive of me,” Shilpa stated.
Interestingly, just a day before this interview surfaced, a leading publication reported that Shilpa had refused to discuss her sister Namrata and Mahesh Babu during her media interactions. Nonetheless, Shilpa seems confident going into the Bigg Boss house, stating that she has no secrets and will be true to herself throughout the show.
Shilpa Shirodkar rose to fame in the early 1990s with roles in hit films like Kishen Kanhaiya, Khuda Gawah, Gopi Kishan, and Return of Jewel Thief. Although she began her career around the same time as Salman Khan, the two never worked together. Shilpa mentioned that while she knows Salman, they are not close friends. Meanwhile, her sister Namrata has previously shared the screen with Salman Khan in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai.
This year’s Bigg Boss 18 boasts an interesting mix of contestants. Alongside Shilpa, participants include Nyrra Banerji, Avinash Mishra, Vivian Dsena, Shehzada Dhami, and several others, making for an exciting competition. The show airs on Colors and streams on JioCinema.
