Big blow for Australia cricket team, Captain Meg Lanning ruled out of Women’s Ashes

Meg Lanning, the captain of the Australian women’s cricket team, is facing health issues currently. She has hence been forced to withdraw from the Ashes series.

The Australian team is going to have a very hectic schedule for the next several months. In the championship match for the World Test Championship, Australia will first compete against India. In addition to this, Australia is now engaged in an Ashes series versus England, which consists of five matches. In addition to this, the Australian women’s team will compete against the English women’s team in the Ashes series. This will be a double-header. Nevertheless, prior to this series, Australia has been dealt a significant blow.

Meg Lanning, the captain of the Australian women’s cricket team, has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming women’s Ashes trip in Britain owing to health concerns. Due to a medical condition that needs to be managed from home, the CA medical staff has recommended that Lanning be removed from the squad. As a result, the team has made the decision to do so. The timetable for Lanning’s return to competition will, in due course, become more transparent.

Meg will remain at home, where she will continue to collaborate with the medical professionals in order to make a speedy recovery and return to active duty. Tahlia McGrath will serve as the vice-captain for the women’s squad during the next Ashes series. Alyssa Healy will lead the women’s team as captain during the series.

Because of the Australia A tour, which enabled players to be available for both teams and switch between them as necessary, it was decided that Lanning would not be replaced in the squad.
