Shilpa Shirodkar, a beloved contestant on Bigg Boss 18, recently opened up about why she stepped away from the entertainment industry to focus on marriage. The actress, who made a mark in Bollywood before taking a break, has no regrets about her decision and firmly believes that everything in life unfolds at the right time.
In an interview, Shilpa shared her perspective, recalling her mother’s wise words. “I got married in 2000, and my mother always said that things should happen at the right time, or you miss the boat. If you don’t take that step, you spend your whole life wondering about missed opportunities. For me, marriage was the next phase, and I embraced it wholeheartedly. I was happy to leave the industry and start a new chapter.”
The actress also spoke about how she never questioned her choices. Trusting her mother’s decisions, she believed that marriage was her destined path. “I never had any regrets. I always listened to my mother, knowing she would make the right decisions for me. Though I never intended to leave India, destiny had other plans. Moving abroad changed the course of my career, and I transitioned fully into being a homemaker.”
Shilpa won many hearts during her 102-day journey on Bigg Boss 18 before being evicted just before the finale. Her exit left both fans and housemates emotional as the competition narrowed down to the top six contestants—Karan Veer Mehra, Vivian Dsena, Chum Darang, Eisha Singh, Avinash Mishra, and Rajat Dalal. Ultimately, Karan emerged as the winner of the season.
Before stepping away from films, Shilpa’s last big-screen appearance was in Gaja Gamini (2000), directed by MF Hussain and starring Madhuri Dixit. While her journey in Bollywood may have been brief, she remains content with the path she chose, proving that happiness lies in embracing life’s turns with confidence and grace.
