One of the most popular reality shows on Indian television is Bigg Boss. Despite having 17 successful seasons on television, Bigg Boss OTT, the show’s internet counterpart, debuted in 2021. Star Divya Agarwal won the inaugural season, which was hosted by Karan Johar. Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss OTT 2 last year, and YouTuber Elvish Yadav won the championship.
The next season of Bigg Boss OTT 3 may premiere on May 15 of this year, according to rumours that have been circulating about the show lately. But, an insider exclusively told Indianexpress.com that season 3 of Bigg Boss OTT will not be produced by the show’s creators.
The source claims that Colours TV and Jio Cinema have chosen against acquiring Bigg Boss OTT this year due to the show’s already saturated viewership. January marked the conclusion of Bigg Boss 17, with Munawar Faruqui emerging victorious. Since there won’t be much time between the conclusion of the current season and the launch of the digital one, Bigg Boss OTT 3 may not air this year in order to minimise overexposure.
However, all talks and negotiations are still in their early stages, and Jio Cinemas, Colours TV, and production company Banijay Asia have not provided an official statement on the matter.
The Bigg Boss OTT 2 participants gained a great deal of notoriety throughout the past season. Several well-known figures, including Pooja Bhatt, Jiya Shankar, Manisha Rani, Elvish Yadav, and Abhishek Malhan, were featured on the OTT edition of the show last year. Sheezan Khan, Arhaan Behll, Shehzada Dhami, Pratiksha Honmukhe, Dalljiet Kaur, Maxtern, Sriram Chandra, and Dhanashree Verma were among the rumoured contenders to join for season 3.
Bigg Boss OTT 3 is now cancelled for this year, although there may be more changes in the works.
