According to reports on Saturday, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA was detained for reportedly shooting and injuring a Shiv Sena a politician led by Eknath Shinde over a land issue in Maharashtra’s Thane district.
Additional Commissioner of Police Dattatrya Shinde told the media that on Friday night, Mahesh Gaikwad, the head of the Shiv Sena in Kalyan, was shot and killed inside the senior inspector’s chamber of the Hill Line police station in the Ulhasnagar district by BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad.
Prior to his apprehension, Ganpat Gaikwad told a TV channel that he had fired the gun because his kid was being physically assaulted at the police station.
According to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, there is an attempt to create a “kingdom of criminals” in Maharashtra. After being brought to a nearby hospital, Mahesh Gaikwad was transferred to a private clinic in Thane.
According to Sena chief Kalyan Gopal Landge, he had a good operation. Additional CP Shinde stated that when Mahesh Gaikwad and his men arrived at the police station, Ganpat Gaikwad’s son had come to file a complaint over a land dispute.
Ganpat Gaikwad later made it to the police station as well. According to the official, Ganpat Gaikwad reportedly fired rounds at Mahesh Gaikwad inside the senior inspector’s chamber during an incident between the MLA and the Sena leader, hurting both of them.
