The England cricket team may have lost the 5-match test series to India by 1-3 but their coach Brendon McCullum is still not ready to play conventional test cricket, he is still adamant on sticking to the Bazball approach despite getting slammed heavily by many former England cricketers.
England started the series with a win in Hyderabad but in the next three test matches, the Indian team emerged as the winner and the Bazball approach failed miserably as this is the first series that England has lost since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum have taken over as the skipper and the coach of the team, respectively.
While talking to the English media, Brendon McCullum stated, “There’s times in games where we haven’t quite screwed down our method just yet. We’ve lost here, didn’t win the Ashes (2-2), but we’re a better team than 18 months ago, and we’ve got an opportunity in the next 18 months to do some special shit.”
He further added, “We’ll keep chiseling away at those rough edges. It’s not a bad time to be coach of the England team.”
The fifth and the final test match of the series will start from 7th March at Dharamshala.
