Deadly Bus Accident in Odisha’s Ganjam District: 10 Dead, Multiple Injuries Reported

Last night, a bus accident in the Odisha, Ganjam district resulted in 10 losses and 8 injuries, injured patients are admitted to MKCG Medical College, Berhampur.

A direct hit between two buses controlled by Digapahandi police in the Ganjam district of Odisha caused at least 10 deaths and countless injuries. An OSRTC bus and a private bus had a direct clash bus accident in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

According to District Magistrate of Ganjam Dibya Jyoti Parida, the injured were immediately taken to the MKCG Medical College for treatment following the bus collision.

A private bus returning from Berhampur collided with an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) vehicle travelling in the opposite direction from Gudari in the Rayagada district at around one in the morning, according to official sources.

Speaking to the media, Jyoti stated, “Two buses hit, resulting in 10 died. The injured were treated right away after being admitted to MKCG Medical College. A case investigation is being conducted. We are working to help the injured in any way we can.

According to an official statement from the CM office, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed sorrow over the deaths of ten people in the bus tragedy and promised an ex-gratia of 3 lakh to the families of the deceased.

Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M confirmed the 10 fatalities and stated that a medical team is treating the injured people as necessary. “Early inquiry indicates that there was a head-on accident. We’re looking for additional information. All of the injured were rescued and sent to the hospital by the local police and fire crews, Vivek told reporters in Berhampur.

All of the people who perished and were seriously hurt were travelling home in a private bus after attending a wedding ceremony in Berhampur. 6 badly injured patients are receiving care at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, while a seventh patient was sent to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for additional care.

Bikram Keshari Arukha, the state’s finance minister, and Bikram Panda, a Berhampur MLA, were also given orders by Patnaik to rush to the scene and assess the situation.
