The traders’ group reported on Tuesday (November 21) that consumer wedding and service spending is about Rs 1 lakh crore higher than last year.
Trade bodies in 30 cities across states and products and services stakeholders informed the CAIT’s calculations.
“Rs 4.7 lakh crore will be spent on 38 lakh weddings from November 23 to December 15,” stated CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.Nearly 32 lakh weddings cost Rs 3.75 lakh crore last year. He anticipated a Rs 1 lakh crore expenditure boost this year, benefiting the Indian economy and retail sector.
Khandelwal expected 4 lakh Delhi weddings this season, earning Rs 1.25 lakh crore.
