CBI raided the premises of former WAPCOS CMD Rajendra Gupta and recovered Rs 10 crore each from his premises in Delhi and Chandigarh. Along with Rs 20 crore cash, several documents have also been recovered.
Rs. 20 crore have been recovered from two places in the raid of CBI at Rajendra Gupta, former CMD of Jal Shakti Ministry. A case of disproportionate assets was registered against him and on Tuesday, the CBI raided his locations, in which Rs 10 crore each was recovered from Delhi and Chandigarh locations.
A total of Rs 20 crore in cash and various documents have been recovered in such raids. Accused Rajendra Kumar Gupta was working as CMD in Water and Power Consultancy and this company worked under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against former CMD, Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited (WAPCOS). In which Gupta and his family members are accused of having disproportionate assets.
CBI has informed that searches were conducted today at the residential, business premises of the accused at about 19 places including Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad. During the searches, around Rs 20 crore in cash, incriminating documents, jewelry and digital devices were recovered from the accused, investigation is underway. The allegation against the Ex CMD of WAPCOS is that he had assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure from 01.04.2011 to 31.03.2019.
Simultaneously, the accused after retirement had started a consultancy business in the name of a private company based in Delhi. The alleged immovable properties of the accused include flats, commercial properties and a farm house spread across Delhi, Gurugram, Panchkula, Sonipat and Chandigarh.
